29 Nov Inside the £11 million Independent Living housing scheme in #Harwich

An information session for a new £11 million Independent Living housing scheme in Harwich will be held on Thursday 1 December between 10am and 2pm at Harwich Library.
Visitors will have the opportunity to discover what type of lifestyle they can expect from Independent Living housing at Rosebank Park, being built on land adjacent to The Fryatt Hospital, Main Road, Harwich.
Staff from Essex County Council and Season Senior Living, who will manage the site, will be available to provide advice on:

  • The benefits of Independent Living housing
  • Eligibility criteria
  • The types of care and support that can be delivered
  • Costs and funding
  • How to apply for a flat.

Once completed, Rosebank Park will offer 70 Independent Living flats.
Independent Living housing offers people aged 55 and over the opportunity to live in a home of their own with 24 hour care and support on site.
Flats are designed to meet changing needs and feature one or two bedrooms, living room, fitted kitchen, built-in oven and en-suite bathroom.
Rosebank Park will also offer shared facilities including a residents’ lounge, dining room, mobility scooter store and private courtyard garden.
To be eligible to apply for a flat at Rosebank Park, individuals must be aged 55 or over, require six or more hours of assessed care each week and have lived in the Tendring District Council area for at least three years (or have a family link to the area).

Independent Living is beneficial for people with a wide range of care and support needs, including early and mid-stage dementia.
The first residents are anticipated to move in to Rosebank Park during January 2016.
The information session is open to all; there is no need to book in advance.
