The positive difference hearing aids can make with the right support has been highlighted by new research from specialist hearing care provider
Audika*.
Among Greater London respondents who wore their hearing aids for at least eight hours a day, 94% reported a positive impact on their lives.
The findings show how becoming comfortable with hearing aids can help people stay connected to conversations, relationships and everyday moments. They also underline the value of support beyond the initial fitting: among Greater London respondents who experienced
difficulties, 91% believe at least one challenge could have been overcome through better early hearing-care appointments.
This reinforces the importance of personalised guidance and ongoing aftercare in helping people adjust to their hearing aids and feel confident wearing them regularly.
The research comes as Audika expands its presence across Essex, Hertfordshire and North London, with four local hearing centres having transitioned to the Audika brand. The regional rollout includes locations in Chelmsford, Leigh-on-Sea, Enfield and Hitchin,
bringing together former Hidden Hearing and Amplifon UK clinics under one specialist hearing care brand.
Audika launches at a time when millions of people in the UK could benefit from hearing support but have yet to seek treatment. According to the
RNID,
people wait an average of 10 years before seeking help for hearing loss, and while an estimated 10 million adults could benefit from hearing aids, only around 3 million use them, highlighting the significant gap between need and treatment. Audika’s long-term

The transition forms part of Audika’s nationwide rollout, which will see all remaining centres across the UK move to the Audika brand by October 2026. The roll out aims to make it easier for people across Essex, Hertfordshire and North London to access expert
hearing tests, the latest hearing technology and personalised aftercare closer to home.
