22 Dec Hundreds of donated presents to be delivered to Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow
This Christmas Eve will see hundreds of donated presents being delivered to local hospitals including the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow for local children who find themselves in hospital over Christmas. The ‘Give a Gift’ campaign launched by KeepaBeat nationwide provider of first aid classes to parents and children, is celebrating five years of bringing heart warming smiles to little faces during its annual Christmas Eve present drop which sees hospitalised children of all ages (up to the age of 17) receive a special surprise gift over the festive period.
This year, the present drop will happen between 11am and 1pm on Christmas Eve at the local hospitals. Members of the local community have been supporting the cause in great numbers by purchasing a gift with a minimum value of £5, gift-wrapping and labelling it with the age and gender it is suitable for, before dropping it off at the various collection points in the local area.
Sam MacKay, Founder of KeepaBeat spoke about why this campaign is so important, “As a parent myself, I went through a particularly tough time during my baby daughter’s first year where she spent a lot of time in hospital. I was so thankful for the amazing support given by the paediatric teams and the compassion and dedication they showed us every day that I wanted to give something back. Running the KeepaBeat first aid class franchise meant I already had access to a large network of likeminded parents, so it simply gave us an ideal platform upon which to launch the idea for a gift donation campaign.”
