How to get your favourite takeaway this Halloween – free of charge!

26 Oct How to get your favourite takeaway this Halloween – free of charge!

Takeaway fans could get a free £10 takeaway order by ‘ghosting the competition’ this Halloween.

For Foodhub customers, this October is all about treat, without a trick in sight – because the food ordering app is giving customers a free meal this Halloween.

Foodhub is a direct competitor to takeaway brands Just Eat, Uber Eats and Deliveroo, so customers who ‘ghost the competition’ this Halloween, by simply heading to www.ghostthecompetition.co.uk could claim a free £10 voucher to use on a takeaway or restaurant of their choice.

Thanks to Foodhub’s non-commission model, Foodhub is on average 15% cheaper than when customers order the exact same meal via Just Eat, Uber Eats and Deliveroo – meaning foodie fans can tuck into their favourite meal at a scarily good price.

As part of its nationwide Halloween campaign, Foodhub has launched a series of billboards in major cities across the UK, including Manchester, Birmingham, Liverpool, Nottingham and Leeds urging customers to take advantage of its cheaper prices. Passers-by can scan the QR code featured on the billboard, taking them to the ‘ghost the competition’ landing page where they can claim their £10 voucher.

And that’s not all…as alongside the billboard, guests will be greeted by a 6m tall ghost in the Manchester location, also bearing a QR code which customers can scan to order their tasty treat at a discounted price.

Foodhub has conducted national research which reveals that takeaway food orders increase by a huge 15% on the All Hallows Eve compared to regular week days – so, to be sure of a spookily good deal on one of the most popular takeaway meal days of the year, a trip to www.ghostthecompetition.co.uk is an easy win for food fans.

Ther Foodhub research shows that the number one dish ordered on Halloween isn’t a boo-rito or chips and grave-y, but in fact takeaway staple…pizza.

Emma Stockman, Foodhub spokesperson, said: “At Foodhub, we are receiving screenshots from our customers constantly, revealing that on occasions we are around £8 cheaper than our competitors when they order. Same food, the same restaurant, but a lot cheaper. Our non-commission model means not only is the takeaway cheaper for our customers, but selling via our platform works out as a fairer price for our takeaway and restaurant suppliers too.

“This year, we also launched our ‘Love Local’ campaign. Through the initiative we will be donating free meals for every order processed to local charities up and down the country.

“There will be no tricks this Halloween, only treats as we’re so excited to be offering customers the chance to sign up to Foodhub and pick up a free meal to celebrate the season of spook!”
