Housebuilder supports mental health charity in West Essex

20 Dec Housebuilder supports mental health charity in West Essex

Bellway has made a £500 donation to help support a mental health charity in West Essex.
The company is building new homes in Saffron Walden and Great Dunmow and made the contribution to Mind in West Essex, which has offices in both towns.
Mind in West Essex covers the Uttlesford, Harlow and Epping Forest areas, supporting people affected by mental ill health.
Bellway’s donation will go towards helping the charity run its varied services, some of which are funded through grants and contracts and delivered in Partnership with organisations such as the NHS.
These services include counselling, Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training and peer support, as well as Crisis Alternative Services such as Sanctuary, which helps people who are having a mental health crisis but do not need hospital treatment, and the Night Owls support line.
Jade Bolton, Fundraising and Marketing Coordinator at Mind in West Essex, said: “As a local mental health charity we heavily rely on the charitable donations we receive from the public to ensure we are able to continue offering the range of services that are needed.
“Some of the support that we offer is not funded and therefore is only able to continue through the hard work and support of fundraisers and charitable donations. Examples of this are affordable counselling, support at Carver Barracks, supported volunteering, Chatty Cafe, Befriending and The Parent Place.
“We are extremely grateful for this generous donation made to us by Bellway. It will enable us to continue to run support groups and activities within the area.”
Bellway is delivering new housing at Poppy View in Saffron Walden and at Sapphire Fields at Great Dunmow Grange in Great Dunmow.
Jenny Walker, Sales Director for Bellway Essex, said: “As a local housebuilder providing new homes in West Essex, we are aware of the sterling work that Mind in West Essex does for people with mental health problems throughout this part of the county.
“It is very reassuring to know that this charity is out there providing specialist support for members of our local community and it is great to know that our donation will help the organisation maintain the impressive range of services it provides. “
