Hospice launches hot new fundraising event

24 May Hospice launches hot new fundraising event

St Helena Hospice is looking for brave people willing to walk over hot coals to support hospice care in a new Firewalk event.

The fiery fundraiser will take place at Orpen Memorial Hall, West Bergholt, on Thursday 10th November from 7pm. All participants will be fully supported with an in-depth training session led by a certified Firewalk instructor, before walking barefoot across red hot embers to support local people facing incurable illness and bereavement.

St Helena Hospice supporter engagement fundraiser Lisa Chenery said: “We’re always looking to offer new and exciting ways for our supporters to fundraise for their local hospice and we’re sure that taking on a Firewalk will be on a lot of people’s bucket lists!

“We’re asking each participant to raise at least £150 in sponsorship to help local people face incurable illness and bereavement. This amount could provide 30 families who are in distress with expert advice and guidance over the phone from our 24/7 SinglePoint advice line.”

Registration for the event is £25 which covers the cost of putting on the Firewalk. Spaces for the event are limited and operate on a first-come first-served basis, sign up online at www.sthelena.org.uk/firewalk. The event is not suitable for under 12s.
