17 Jan HOMEBUILDER CELEBRATES COMPLETION OF INFRASTRUCTURE FOR GREATER ACCESS IN HULLBRIDGE
Barratt and David Wilson Homes was joined by representatives from local authorities in Essex to mark the official opening of a new roundabout for the village of Hullbridge.
The new infrastructure delivered by the leading housebuilder was part of the planning agreement for its nearby High Elms Park development on Lower Road, and is the second roundabout constructed for the benefit of the village.
To celebrate the completion of its works, a ribbon cutting was arranged with the homebuilder’s Managing Director, Simon Wood, alongside Cllr Simon Wootton (Leader of Rochford District Council) , Cllr David Elwell (Chairman of Hullbridge Parish Council), Cllr Ian Ward (Portfolio Holder for Planning at Rochford District Council) and Brian Carleton (Chairman of Hullbridge Residents Association).
Also in attendance from Barratt and David Wilson Homes were Ray Houghton (Head of Planning) and Tom Wright (Technical Manager), to discuss the completion and maintenance of the roundabout.
Cllr Simon Wootton said: “I welcome this new road layout, a vital piece of infrastructure, which is already making a considerable improvement in traffic congestion which has blighted the area and been problematic for local residents for many years. This is a good example of how change can have a positive benefit on a locality and improve safety.”
Cllr David Elwell said: “We are very pleased the works are now completed and look forward to our residents enjoying a better road infrastructure as a result of the new roundabout.”
As part of the initial plans for its High Elms Park development, the two roundabouts were designed to improve traffic flow in the local area.
Simon Wood said: “We’re thrilled to have completed works on the roundabout to provide greater access in Hullbridge and we appreciate the patience of local residents whilst we carried out the works safely and efficiently.
“As a leading housebuilder, we aim to support and enhance local infrastructure whilst providing new homes and we’re glad to see this new roundabout has already started to improve the village’s traffic flow.
“Now the works close to our High Elms Park development have been completed, we can look forward to helping local people settle into their new homes in Hullbridge.”
Those interested in stamping their name on a new property at High Elms Park are encouraged to register their interest to receive updates about the properties available.
