Devoted mother of four, Dorothy Nwankwo has recently launched her new business, Home Instead, South Woodham Ferrers.
With a high-flying career background in banking, Dorothy has a wealth of managerial and financial experience helping people succeed in business. Joining her in this venture is care manager and local resident, Susan Garrett, creating the perfect mix of caring and management skills.
Susan will be supporting the team in bringing high-quality, companionship-led home care services to elderly people in areas such as Woodham Ferrers, Rochford, Burnham, Maylandsea, Tillingham, Bradwell-On-Sea and surrounding towns and villages.
Dorothy had always wanted to run her own business, something where she could make a real difference. She had come across award-winning Home Instead several times during her previous profession and was captivated by their mission and ethos.
She commented: “My husband and I have dedicated our early years to building our careers and bringing up our children. I have always wanted to set up my own business and this is a perfect way to do so – offering exceptional home care to our local older population, care we would want for our own family. I’ve seen the joy that those working in the care industry have, real pleasure and satisfaction derived from helping others and doing something that matters. I’m excited to achieve this with Home Instead, something which will make a real difference in the community”.
Dorothy is joined in her new venture by Susan Garrett. Not only has Susan helped Dorothy get their office up and running, but she is wholly dedicated to delivering the very best care for their clients.
Susan explained: “I have worked in care for 20 years now, and there is nothing I would rather be doing – I love it! I feel that someone’s life should not be compromised just because they are elderly and need support, we are here to help them live their life to the full. I’m busy growing our fabulous caring team and we currently have 50 vacancies. We don’t necessarily need people with care sector experience, but if you are a compassionate person who enjoys helping others, it could be the perfect opportunity!”
Dorothy added, “Seeing my mother grow older and require extra help has only fuelled my desire to launch Home Instead, as I’m passionate that everyone should be able to access quality care services. Opening this business has been in my heart for years, and I’m so happy to finally begin!”
