Herts & Essex Community Farm to host their fifth annual Farm Fest

19 Jul Herts & Essex Community Farm to host their fifth annual Farm Fest

On Saturday August 11th Herts & Essex Community Farm will be hosting their fifth annual Farm Fest at the Fold Croft site. The festival is free to enter and is aimed at bringing the local community together, with fun for all ages.

Local musicians including Harlow Rock School, Ian Treherne, Electric Catnip and the Valaitis brothers will be performing on the stage, whilst over in the peaceful willow classroom guests can enjoy jewellery making, rock painting and headdress making workshops.

There will be a BBQ with locally sourced meat from the Churchgate Sausage shop and vegetarian options available, whilst the farm kitchen will serve up a range of vegan food including curry and chilli using vegetables grown at the farm.

There will also be henna art, face-painting, exotic animals and old-fashioned games for everyone to enjoy with great prizes for all. All proceeds will go towards furthering the work the Community Farm does, including working with schools, community groups and providing fresh produce to the local homeless charity, Streets 2 Homes.

The event runs from 12 – 6pm and guests are encouraged to arrive by foot or public transport as there is only limited parking available at the nearby St. Thomas More Church in Hodings Road.

An after party is being held at Phoenix Live in the old TSB building in the town centre from 7pm where local DJs Superfly and musicians Dan Thomas, Jedd Martin and Shambles will also be performing for a £3 entrance fee.

Herts & Essex Community Farm is a not-for-profit organisation aiming to promote educational, social, environmental and health benefits to the local community. The project holds regular volunteer days which are open to all and all volunteers are welcome to go home with a share of the produce which is all organically grown.
