12 Oct Hero cleaner helps save man who fell unwell in Clacton toilets
A cleaner has been hailed a hero after his efforts helped save a man who fell unwell in seafront toilets.
Antony Luck, a Tendring District Council (TDC) cleaner, found the man unconscious in the public toilets at Pier Gap, Clacton, on Tuesday, October 9.
Antony reacted quickly, shutting off the toilets to the public and called the emergency services to the incident.
The cleaner, who has worked for TDC for a year, stayed with the man until help arrived from the East of England Ambulance Service.
Paramedics were able to stabilise the man and get him to hospital, and both the ambulance workers and police praised Antony for his quick thinking and lifesaving actions.
Clacton resident Antony, 29, said he was just doing what anyone else would have done.
