07 Sep Harlow Council appoints Rob Tinlin as interim Chief Executive
Rob Tinlin has been confirmed as the interim Chief Executive of Harlow Council.
Rob’s appointment was approved by councillors at a Special Council meeting held last night (5 September 2022) following a recommendation by the council’s appointments panel.
He takes up the role from today (6 September 2022). The appointment will be for up to six months while the council seeks a permanent appointment to the role of Chief Executive and Head of Paid Service.
The costs of the interim appointment will be met from within the council’s approved budgets for 2022/23.
Rob was Chief Executive of Southend-On-Sea Borough Council for 12 years before retiring in 2017 after more than 40 years’ service in local government. More recently Rob has worked in interim Chief Executive roles at Castlepoint and Uttlesford councils.
Following Rob’s appointment, Councillor Russell Perrin, Leader of Harlow Council, said:
“I am delighted that we have managed to secure the services of someone of Rob’s calibre and experience who will work with us to recruit a new permanent Chief Executive for Harlow Council. Rob has an impressive track record as a Chief Executive in Essex, and I look forward to working closely with him in the coming months as we take the council and the town forwards.”
Rob Tinlin, Interim Chief Executive, said:
“I am looking forward to working alongside the members, officers and partners of Harlow Council to deliver for the town’s residents and businesses, and to facilitate the search for its next permanent Chief Executive.”
