22 Nov Half of East Anglian Graduates Acknowledge They’re No Better Off Having Studied
Much of the regions graduates have not benefited from or used their degree in the world of work. New research conducted by Able Skills, surveyed graduates across the area and found that many have regrets.
More than half feel they could be in the same position without a degree while a fifth say they could actually be earning more if they went straight into work.
A fifth of graduates from the area wish they didn’t go to university at all. Perhaps because they are not using their degrees, almost four in ten of all (38%) of East Anglian graduates have never used their qualification at work. But this doesn’t look set to change, 85% of employed graduates have no plans to move jobs to make use of their studies.
The study also revealed the top ten most pointless degrees, as voted by graduates from East Anglia:
Fashion
Art History
Media Studies
Film Studies
Fine arts
Philosophy
Sports Management
Religious Studies
Drama
PR and Communications
