29 Jun Grand Marnier partners with London bar to launch ‘Bastille Day’ menu
Renowned French cognac and orange liqueur, Grand Marnier has partnered with classic cocktail bar, Satan’s Whiskers, to launch three exclusive serves for Bastille Day.
A landmark of French style, Grand Marnier is steeped in French heritage so there is no better occasion than France’s National Day to showcase how this iconic liqueur elevates cocktails.
Senior Bartender at Satan’s Whiskers, Yoann Tarditi, grew up in the French Riviera so is no stranger to the unique alchemy of Grand Marnier.
Blending cognac with exotic bitter oranges, it adds a layer of complexity and sophistication to cocktail serves through the cognac notes and the bitter oranges aroma.
The first cocktail on the menu for Bastille Day is Coquetel Josephine, made from Grand Marnier Cordon Rouge, cognac, sauternes, apricot, lemon, orange blossom.
The second serve, Grand Peach Cobbler, also features Grand Marnier’s original liqueur, Cordon Rouge, alongside peach, Lillet Blanc, pineapple and finished with lemon.
The final serve to round off the trio is Riviera Special. This cocktail includes Grand Marnier Louis Alexandre, blended with Sauvignon Blanc, grapefruit aperitif, almond and passion fruit.
Tristram Lilburne-Fini, Grand Marnier UK Brand Ambassador said: “Grand Marnier is masterfully and proudly made in the Cognac region of France, and it’s an integral component of cocktails, elevating serves to the next level. Bastille Day is a significant moment in the French calendar and so, as a French brand, it only seems right to bring the festivities to London.”
Satan’s Whiskers Senior Bartender, Yoann Tarditi, said: “The cocktails are inspired by the joyful time of year France’s National Day brings. The sun doesn’t set until 10pm, the evenings are warm and l’apéro brings people together.
“Our Grand Marnier menu celebrates those special moments, through cocktails, featuring liqueurs and ingredients rooted in the French drinking culture. The versatility and depth of flavour of Grand Marnier Cordon Rouge, and Louis Alexandre, are highlighted in the recipes. Think aromatic Sauternes, juicy apricot, French aperitif wines, ripe peaches, local Sauvignon Blanc and tropical passionfruit – perfect partners for Grand Marnier.”
Coquetel Josephine, Grand Peach Cobbler and Riviera Special will be available from Monday 10th July June to Sunday 16th July for £12.00 from Satan’s Whiskers in Bethnal Green.
