18 May Galvin Green Man: The tongue tickling pub menu and heavenly setting to die for!
By Matthew Martino
REVIEW: Galvin Green Man
A trip to Galvin Green Man in Chelmsford proved to be eloquently delightful as whilst I was greeted by a heavenly restaurant like setting which aims to deliver the best for the exquisite diners, the tongue tickling pub menu filled with a selection of dinner dishes made this an experience to die for!
Fresh off their Best Pub In Essex nod they didn’t disappoint at all, the excellent use of woodwork and open format fireplaces on either side of the dining area complete with floor to ceiling windows brought in an excellent view of the immaculate garden outside and an ounce of natural light.
The Menu:
For starters I was enticed by the Crisp romain, croutons, anchovies & Berkswell cheese which I added on the extra option of smoked chicken (£12) this was freshly made, with a colourful and elegant visual appearance that only warmed up my taste buds, for my mains it was only right to try the Hereford Ribeye Steak, Peppercorn Sauce & Chips (£24), medium rare was my preference and this didn’t disappoint.
A bonus course which was very well received was Salmon in garlic sauce to mark the end of the wild garlic season that is grown by the river behind the Galvin !
The service:
Quick and very much person centred, from Lauren who greeted me at the door to Emile and Chloe who served me I felt at home. There is this umwaverimg abundance of smiles and diligence in the eatery that makes you feel comfortable.
The verdict: 5/5
“The tongue tickling pub menu and heavenly setting was purely to die for!, They were named the best pub in Essex but this is easily the Best Pub In The UK!”
