19 Oct FREE PASTA to celebrate World Pasta Day at Emilia’s Crafted Pasta
You heard that right. In honour of World Pasta Day and in the spirit of sharing their love of pasta with as many people as possible, pasta specialists Emilia’s Crafted Pasta are continuing their annual tradition of giving away free pasta.
Past iterations of Emilia’s hotly anticipated annual event have seen a grand total of nearly 2000 people go on a World Pasta Day pasta pilgrimage to their restaurants in search of soul, warming pasta made with only 100% natural ingredients. However, fresh of the success of hosting London’s first ever summer pasta festival in August, this year’s fourth edition of Emilia’s World Pasta Day celebrations will also take place exclusively at their flagship Wood Wharf restaurant, in Canary Wharf’s new residential neighbourhood.
Guests will be able to choose from 8 of their best-loved signature pasta dishes to celebrate World Pasta Day between 12pm – 4pm and 5pm – 9pm. Among the choices are silky-smooth golden ribbons of pappardelle paired with a 4-hour, slow-cooked Bolognese sauce made with ‘pasture for life’ certified 100% grass-fed beef mince from a small farm outside Bristol – which becomes even more indulgent with the addition of fresh béchamel. We also have creamy homemade basil pesto as well as a vegan-friendly pistachio pesto both paired with casarecce, which allows the sauce to nestle in its twists.
Based on the large demand in previous years – and generally, from being in Britain – there are bound to be some queues. But this year Emilia’s is extending the World Pasta Day celebrations beyond the restaurant floor, so those waiting can expect live music from our favourite soulful multi-instrumentalist Francesco Nasone, who will entertain the queue in an Italian-English fusion busker-style, free samples of nibbles to keep tummies happy plus an outside cocktail bar to keep spirits high.
To ensure the giveaway runs smoothly, there are a few things you need to know:
This year the offer will be running exclusively at the Canary Wharf restaurant (E14 9QG). Aldgate and St. Katharine Docks will be open for normal service.
Offer is 1 free pasta dish per person per seating – drinks, desserts and antipasti and any additional items can be ordered through our a la carte menu as per the usual and are optional. You are welcome to just to have your complimentary bowl of pasta without anything else
Eat in only (no Deliveroo/take away/ click and collect)
The kitchen will be open from 12-4pm and 5-9pm (or until all pasta runs out, so we’d recommend you come sooner rather than later to avoid disappointment)
