Former Landmark Pub Given New Lease of Life at Garland Court Open Day

House buyers flocked to the newly converted Rising Sun pub renovation, Garland Court, for real ale tastings and traditional pub treats at the property’s open day on 21 April, hosted by Beresfords.

Garland Court is a boutique development of thirteen one-two-bedroom luxury apartments, which offers homebuyers a unique slice of history with all the benefits of contemporary living. The development offers superior levels of craftsmanship and the latest in twenty first century design and fittings. Each apartment boasts designer fittings throughout, contemporary bathrooms and open plan sleek kitchens, dining and living room spaces.

Garland Court is situated at the end of Billericay’s bustling High Street. The town offers independent boutiques, cafes and award-winning restaurants. It’s also walking distance of the main line station with just a 30-minute commute to London or a short drive to the UK’s newest city, Chelmsford, which also boasts a new Bond Street shopping centre, which is home to a John Lewis, Everyman Cinema and a wide range of restaurants. Billericay is also surrounded by beautiful countryside, country parks and an array of golf courses and clubs.

The Rising Sun became a landmark pub in Billericay after it opened its doors in 1810 when it was owned by the local brewhouse, Billericay Brewery. In 1830 the pub was sold as an individual lot and came onto the market again in 1898. Throughout the years thousands of punters flooded through the Rising Sun’s doors thanks to its location – on the main crossroads to London and Southend, which made it a popular destination for horse drawn carriages making their way to the coast and the city. After the advent of the railway The Rising Sun remained a popular establishment in Billericay until last orders were called in 2014.

The properties are priced from £295,000 for a one-bedroom apartment to £450,000 for a two-bedroom top-of-the-range apartment. To find out more about Garland Court, visit www.beresfords.co.uk.
