11 Jun Former cricket legend Graham Gooch to launch wine range in Ingatestone
June in the heart of Ingatestone village as the local wine shop prepares to launch their new look business with a Strawberry & Fizz celebration spearheaded by International Cricket legend Graham Gooch.
Former England Cricket Captain Graham is hoping for another high score but this time not for his batting. Graham has recently launched his own wine range, inspired from his travels around the world during his long and successful career.
The ThreeThirtyThree wine range will be available for tastings as part of Ingatestone Wines sparkling launch day. “We are absolutely thrilled that Graham is supporting us with the launch of our new look business which we are really excited about sharing with our customers and the local community here in Ingatestone”, explains husband and wife owners Dave & Lucy.
This family run business is so much more than just an individual wine merchant; yes, they have a wonderful selection of wines, spirits, sparkling, ales and beer – all ranges that you wouldn’t find on the supermarket shelves but that is just the start of their story! Dave & Lucy Whittaker are innovative, local residents, keen to serve their surrounding communities with an ever evolving and growing service offer. Since taking the reigns of the Wine shop, they haven’t looked back; they are really transforming the business and making it their own.
By day, the shop runs as a retail outlet and by night it transforms into an impressive tasting bar with a great social atmosphere. “Dave and Lucy are perfect hosts and these evenings are hugely enjoyable”, said recent tastings visitors Kim and Steve. The couple really get into the spirit of the event, even dressing up for their ‘Gingo’ games which is a recent addition to their Gin tastings.
“Our tasting evenings are deliberately less formal and more social than normal tastings and have proved very popular within the village and further afield. Guests love the food accompaniments and love the chance of tasting the unusual and different brands they we offer at these events”, explains Lucy.
