19 Dec First Essex Bus team share festive poem with shoppers
Bus drivers and members of staff from Basildon have shared a little extra festive cheer with shoppers by reciting an original poem entitled ‘An Ode to Christmas Shoppers’. The six First Essex employees came together with Father Christmas on board the First Essex ‘Santa Bus’ to produce a seasonal video recital of the poem.
Jo Cannon, Garry Ashford, Stacey Ashby, Matt Croft, Josh Rayner and Aaron Avery took time out of the driver’s seat or office chair at First Essex Bus to record the poem and enjoy a bit of festive fun with Father Christmas.
Launched this year, the First Essex Santa Bus has a dazzling festive design featuring a jolly Father Christmas being pulled in his sleigh by his famous reindeer. The bus was also decorated inside with tinsel, lights and other festive decorations.
Lines from the festive poem include:
‘It’s a time of good will, a time of good cheer.
So be your best self at this time of year.
Share a smile or a wave with those you see near,
In the shops, on the bus, in the pub with a beer.’
Sheena Karim, Marketing Manager for First Essex Bus, commented: “A big thank you to all the fabulous team who took part in this project. It was a great chance to have some Christmas fun and share a bit of joy with our customers. All our staff are working so hard at this time of year and our aim is to make sure everyone gets home safely, especially during the winter months. This video is our way of saying thank you to everyone that uses our buses and wish them a Merry Christmas.”
