31 May Father’s Day Deal at The War of The Worlds Immersive Experience Launched
Layered Reality, the UK’s leading immersive experience specialist, has brought to life an immersive adaptation of the 1978 multi-platinum album Jeff Wayne’s Musical Version of The War of The Worlds, featuring virtual reality and multi-sensory effects (https://thewaroftheworldsimmersive.com), and inspired by HG Wells’ 1897 sci-fi novel The War of The Worlds.
Jeff Wayne’s The War of The Worlds: The Immersive Experience is a multi-million pound visitor attraction in the heart of London. Composer and producer Jeff Wayne re-produced his iconic score and created new and exciting sound effects and sound design exclusively for The Immersive Experience which uses a mix of live actors, movie quality sets, virtual reality (VR), digital tech and multi-sensory effects to create a complete experience.
Experience Victorian England being invaded by Martians
Visitors travel back to 1898 and experience escaping a Martian-occupied Victorian England in an action-packed journey through the classic tale of The War of The Worlds, all set to Jeff Wayne’s iconic score.
The 1 hour 50 minute experience sees visitors follow George Herbert and his fiancée Carrie in their mission to survive and chronicle the 1898 Martian invasion.
The adrenaline-inducing journey sees guests enter a number of highly detailed, visually stunning worlds. Guests will hear from holographic figures, sneak into a deserted Victorian house, journey through the trenches to London, slide down the claw of a Martian Handling Machine, fly to Mars and then return to Earth in a hot air balloon and visit The Red Weed Bar, which is exclusive to ticket holders.
Virtual reality boat ride through a Martian-ravaged London
Other scenes will see guests climb aboard beautifully propped, themed motion simulators and don a VR headset, as they become the protagonists in the narrative. The multi-sensory VR experiences include an attempt to escape London by boat, riding through a Martian-ravaged London on the Thames, dodging Heat Rays as 300-foot Martian Fighting Machines attack Westminster and Big Ben – all accompanied to Composer Jeff Wayne’s music and Paul Vigrass’ and Garry Osborne’s lyrics of their international hit single ‘Forever Autumn’. Guests will also feel the rush of wind and waves as they sail out to sea to witness the most climatic naval battle – the Martians versus HMS Thunder Child.
For those who want to witness the experience first-hand, Jeff Wayne’s The War of The Worlds: The Immersive Experience tickets are available now at https://thewaroftheworldsimmersive.com from £45-£82, (plus booking fee), Wednesday (at peak times) and Thursday – Sunday.
