16 Jul Fashion Design students from Southend raise funds for havens Hospices with catwalk show
Fashion Design students held their end of year catwalk show and raised funds for Havens Hospices in the process.
Level 3 Fashion Design students from the College’s Southend Campus displayed their clothes creations at the Beecroft Gallery. They donated the proceeds from the ticket sales to Havens.
The students raised a total of £172 which will be donated to the charity which provides care and support for those with life-limiting illnesses, and their families.
Trevor Johnson, Director of People and Trading for Havens Hospices, said: “On behalf of everyone at Havens Hospices I’d like to thank the students and lecturers for their time and efforts on this show and for donating the money raised through ticket sales to the charity.
“We can only exist because of the kindness of our supporters; by using the fashion show to raise funds for us the fashion students are helping another adult, young person or child to be pain free and as comfortable as possible. They really are helping us fulfil our promise of Making every day count.”
