It’s rare to find a song that is both catchy and with a good sound, but also a deep message, but that’s exactly what Christopher the Grey’s latest hit single, “Butterflies”, is.
From the very beginning, you feel the excellent flow and the easiness that the Grey has when creating new music. The song just flows out of him and it’s clear to see how much he loves music. And that should come as no surprise, given that he started singing and performing at a very young age, his passion and path in life clear to him from the start, although tragically interrupted by the untimely death of his parents, both musicians themselves. For a while, this situation forced the Grey out of music, only to see him return stronger and more inspired than ever, having grown along with the hardships that he encountered in his life and letting them fuel his songwriting.
In the past few years, he’s returned with a hunger for making good music and in a few short years, the Grey has already put out several hits, such as 2019’s “I am sorry” and “Sun Rise”, both catchy but gritty tracks that stay with you.

At its’ core, “Butterflies” is a happy tune, almost contagiously so, because even if you were frowning when you started listening, you won’t keep frowning for long. The Grey’s rich voice along with the memorable lyrics have you singing and dancing along in no time at all, and you’re guaranteed to keep coming back again and again. I know I’ve exhausted my Spotify – l just keep listening to it on repeat and I have a feeling you will too.
And the best thing about the song is that’s it’s so relatable. “Whenever you’re near, it’s butterflies”, the Grey sings, and the truth is we all know someone who makes us feel that way, and this makes the song feel that much more personal, creating a unique experience, particularly the first time you listen to it.
It’s great to see Christopher the Grey has come back to the music scene, particularly with such passion. It gives one, dare I say it, butterflies.
