10 Jan Exciting new mental health and wellbeing courses in Thurrock
An innovative programme that offers educational courses in Thurrock on mental resilience and wellbeing has new courses beginning in early 2017.
Have you ever wanted to discover more about ideas and techniques aimed at helping people look after their own mental health and build resilience in dealing with those stresses and strains of life? Then why not try a course with Recovery College?
Recovery College offers a range of recovery-focused education and training courses open to all over 18s living in Thurrock.
The courses are free and cover a range of topics from depression and anxiety to food and mood. See below for details on the courses on offer:
Ways to well-being
Explores skills for maintaining emotional wellbeing and building resilience to life’s stresses and strains
Communicating with Confidence
Covers range of topics, including understanding confidence, how our behaviour and thinking affects confidence and the practical strategies to be confident in social situations
Understanding Depression
Outlines the facts and realities of depression, how it is diagnosed and treated and how to manage it
Understanding Anxiety
Explores the facts and realities of anxiety, making a distinction between stress, common anxiety and anxiety disorders
Discovering Mindfulness
Introduces attendees to mindfulness, explaining what it is, some of the techniques involved and how it can help
Food and Mood
Raises awareness of how our diet affects our energy levels, mood and daily lives
