20 Jul Essex Police’s summer anti-drink and drug driving campaign hailed a success
A total of 205 have been arrested during Essex Police’s summer anti-drink and drug driving campaign. The campaign has since been hailed a success.
The campaign ran between Thursday, June 14 and Sunday, July 15 and saw 2,050 drivers stopped and interacted with.
In total 109 people were arrested on suspicion of drink driving, 78 on suspicion of drug driving, and 18 on suspicion of failing to provide a specimen.
During the same campaign last summer 107 people were arrested, while there were 148 arrests during the force’s last Christmas campaign.
