17 Jul Essex Police officers took part in Epping Race for Life
Six Essex Police officers from the Brentwood and Epping Community Policing Team made the most of their time and got their running shoes on last week for a great cause.
The officers took to the starting line at North Weald Airfield on Wednesday for the annual Epping Race for Life.
Pink flowers and sweatbands were order of the day as officers jogged and ran their way around the 5K and 10K course to support loved ones battling the disease.
Sgt Lisa Cooke said: “Everyone knows someone affected by cancer and we are proud to stand together and raise money to help fight the disease.”
They were joined by friends and colleagues including Sp Sgt East, Laura Chalcraft from Active Citizens and the Epping Volunteer Police Cadets who turned out to support the team.
So far the officers have raised over £865 for Cancer Research, including £665 from their online donations page.
