05 Dec Essex Police need more Volunteer Police Cadets
The popularity of the Essex Police Volunteer Police Cadet Programmes means we they looking for new volunteers to help lead their units across Essex.
They are looking for people to help inspire their new generation of cadets and you do not have to be a police employee to become one of their leaders.
An extract on the Essex Police website said “We recognise that many people outside of the policing family have skills, knowledge or experience that we need in order to help develop and support our Cadets.
Aside from making a huge difference to young people, many of our leaders acquire nationally recognised qualifications in outdoor and sports leadership as well as internal training in Cadet programme delivery.”
The Volunteer Police Cadets (VPC) is a uniformed voluntary youth organisation, supported by the Police, and open to young people aged 13-18 from across the UK’s diverse communities, irrespective of their background or financial circumstances, and including those vulnerable to crime or social exclusion.
The aim is to prepare young people for their future by providing varied activities and opportunities to develop qualifications, enhance inter-personal skills and confidence, and achieve a sense of pride through supporting community policing.
