08 Mar Here Is What Essex Police Is Doing For International Women’s Day #IWD2017
International Women’s Day is celebrated across the globe on March 8. The day celebrates the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women across the globe but also highlights the need to further progress towards gender parity. This year’s theme is to ‘Be Bold for Change.’
Essex Police aim to Be Bold For Change by holding a conference throughout the day at the Chelmsford City Racecourse to celebrate the achievements of women in the Emergency Services.
Officers and staff from all genders and all ranks will be joined by colleagues from neighbouring police forces, colleagues from the NHS and colleagues from Essex County Fire and Rescue Service.
Essex boasts a highly diverse culture and Essex Police is committed to supporting all communities equally. This diversity is reflected throughout the Police workforce.
The event has been organised by the Essex Police Women’s Leadership & Development Forum (WLDF) which provides support for all female officers and staff within Essex Police and aims to empower officers and staff to be the best they can be. It is one of many networks within the force which promotes equal opportunities.
