Essex has been named the fourth-best location in England for a ‘Digital Detox’ break, with 22.1% of holiday-homes listed as ‘Wifi-Free’!
There is growing concern around the negative effects that our near-constant interaction with technology could be having on our mental wellbeing. Continuous screen time, especially on social media platforms and apps, has been linked to high levels of depression and anxiety.
World Mental Health Day is coming up this Thursday, so it’s a perfect time to plan a ‘Digital Detox’ holiday – a voluntary break from the stresses and pressures of technology.
At HomeToGo, we conducted a study into which English locations are the best for a ‘Digital Detox’ holiday. Using our meta-search data for over 500,000 properties, we investigated what percentage of properties listed had access to WiFi. From this, we created a ranking of the top fifteen destinations in England with a high proportion of ‘wifi free’ homes – perfect to unplug and unwind.
