20 Jul Essex Housing Association in Top 50 Biggest Builders List for Fifth Year in a Row
Essex based housing association CHP has secured a place in the Inside Housing Top 50 Biggest Builders list for the fifth successive year.
CHP was ranked 43rd in the country for number of homes completed by housing associations in the 2019/20 financial year. It is also in the top 10 for number of homes completed by comparison to its size.
During the last year CHP completed 375 new homes, investing over £60m in the local economy.
Developments completed by CHP over the past year include Station Road in the Braintree district, providing 38 new homes for affordable rent. Just last month CHP celebrated the completion of the Blossom Way development in Great Waltham, providing 10 high quality homes for affordable rent on a former garage site.
Carl Hockey, Growth and Partnerships Director said: “We are extremely proud of our achievements in helping to provide more high-quality affordable homes for our region. We will continue to invest to meet the current shortfall in available housing, and create thriving communities that people feel proud to live in.
“We recognise that the COVID-19 pandemic will have an impact on the delivery of new homes over the coming year, but with over 650 homes currently under construction we remain committed to providing as many new affordable homes as we can to support the recovery.”
