14 Dec Essex & Herts Air Ambulance Trust scoops double win
The Charity lit up the national stage last night after winning two awards at the esteemed Association of Air Ambulances Awards of Excellence.
Air Ambulance Paramedic of the year was awarded to Erica Ley, who has been with the Charity since 2013, and saw off two other shortlisted competitors to accept the award. Specialising in critical care, Erica’s position means she is often first on the scene at incidents across Essex and Hertfordshire.
One of the Charity’s youngest fundraisers, Isobel Pilsworth, won the Outstanding Young Person Award for her amazing fundraising efforts. When her dad was airlifted to hospital after a cardiac arrest in 2015, 5-year-old Isobel took on the challenge to ride 40 miles with his cycling club (stabilisers included!) and donated all profits to the Charity.
Jane Gurney, CEO of EHAAT said: “It’s amazing to see our hardworking staff and fundraisers recognised at such an important awards ceremony. We couldn’t do our work without the constant support of fundraisers like Isobel, and Erica is a perfect example of the talented professionals we are privileged to work with at EHAAT.”
