28 Apr Essex & Herts Air Ambulance receive donation support from Redrow Eastern as Charity of the Year
Leading housebuilder, Redrow, has raised a fantastic £9,726 for their charity of the year, Essex & Herts Air Ambulance (EHAAT). Charity events were held throughout 2022, raising funds that will help the air ambulance to continue to provide vital service for those across the counties and surrounding areas this year.
90% of the fundraising total was raised at Redrow’s annual charity and auction Race night, hosted at Chelmsford City Racecourse in September 2022. The Eastern division organised an evening of entertainment in aid of the charity, with ticket sales for the event, alongside generous donations and an auction contributing to the total amount raised.
Further funds were raised via the sale of show-home furniture that was no longer needed to be used for display. Not only did this benefit Redrow Eastern’s charity of the year, adding to the total raised, it also prevented furniture from going to waste. The rest of the sum comprised fundraising and charitable donations from Redrow staff.
Kerry McCoubrey, Sales Director at Redrow Eastern, commented: “We are incredibly proud to support the extremely important work that EHAAT does for people across Essex and Hertfordshire, and the surrounding areas. We are very grateful to our team here at Redrow Eastern, our partners and our subcontractors, who have come together to organise events and donate their time and money, to raise a fantastic sum for such a worthy cause.
“We would like to extend our gratitude to every member of the EHAAT team, who work tirelessly to help all those who live, work and travel through the area when they need it most.”
Clair Mitchell, Senior Fundraising Coordinator at Essex & Herts Air Ambulance, commented: “We would like to thank the entire Redrow Eastern team and anyone involved in helping them to raise money and help us continue our life-saving work. It has been a real pleasure to work with Redrow, and the wonderful Eastern division, as they reached their brilliant donation total.”
EHAAT provides a free, life-saving helicopter emergency medical service (HEMS) for those across Essex, Hertfordshire and the surrounding area who are critically ill and injured. The HEMS teams attend 2,500 missions a year on average, being dispatched approximately seven times a day. Redrow’s donation will go towards providing life-saving support equipment, and necessary safety equipment.
