26 Jan Essex family man set to launch new local home care company
Local man, Mike Sheehy, is bringing high-quality home care services to Braintree, Sudbury and the Colne Valley with the launch of his new care company, Home Instead.
Mike has lived in Essex for 30 years, having raised his own children in the county. He says: “I owe a lot to Essex, it’s a lovely place to live with a really strong community feel. I hope my new venture with Home Instead can help give back to our local community, and care for people within the comfort of their own homes- something which is needed now more than ever.”
Coming from a finance background, Mike is excited to put his transferable skills to use, and get more involved with his community through his new endeavour. Having learnt of home care when his own parents needed help, Mike saw the benefits that staying at home and maintaining independence can have for older people.
Mike comments: “Many people are unaware that home care is even an option for their elderly loved ones, but it’s true worth has been highlighted throughout the pandemic. Being able to keep seniors safe and comfortable within their own homes and suppress their loneliness has been invaluable throughout 2020, after all we all want to be in our own homes as its where we feel most secure and is what we worked so hard to own. At Home Instead, we can signpost the options available to seniors when they need help.
“The quality of care that Home Instead ensures is what I would want for my own family, and I hope bringing our special type of home care to Braintree and the surrounding area will keep our local seniors well and happy into the future.”
Home Instead specialises in companionship-led care services for the elderly population, which can be easily personalised and tailored to the individual. With services ranging from home help and personal care, the company ensures a minimum visit time of one hour from the same CAREGiver, meaning seniors receive quality care and companionship from familiar faces.
Mike and his team are looking for up to 50 caring individuals from throughout Braintree, Halstead, Sudbury and the neighbouring areas of central Essex to become CAREGivers. Caregivers don’t have to have a background in care, but kind-hearted and nurturing individuals could thrive in the role, helping to keep local seniors safe and comfortable within their own homes.
