13 Sep Essex County Fire and Rescue Service welcome twelve new wholetime firefighters
Twelve new wholetime firefighters have marked the end of their initial training course and been honoured at a passing out ceremony attended by Essex County Fire and Rescue Service’s Chief Fire Officer/Chief Executive Jo Turton, Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner Roger Hirst, family and friends.
The trainees began 14 weeks of intensive training in June 2018 and have used facilities across the county to learn the practical and technical skills needed to meet the demands of a modern day firefighter.
During their ceremony earlier this week the new firefighters performed drills for the guests before being presented with certificates to mark the completion of their training course.
Each trainee will now enter the development phase of their careers as firefighters on stations throughout the county.
