08 Feb Essex Author Shortlisted for Romantic Novel Awards
Award winning novelist Kate Johnson, from Stanstead Mountfitchet, has been shortlisted for the second year in a row for the 2018 RoNAs (Romantic Novel Awards) in the Paranormal or Speculative Romantic Novel category, which she won last year.
Reverend Richard Coles, broadcaster, dancer and former pop star, will present the Romantic Novelists’ Association (RNA) Awards for 2018 during a ceremony in the Gladstone Library, One Whitehall Place, London SW1 on 5thMarch.
Romance continues to be one of the most popular genres, frequently appearing in bestseller lists in both print and ebook formats. Sales of romantic novels in the UK in the first half of 2017 were worth over £17 million, with a romance novel being purchased every two seconds.
The awards comprise seven categories – Contemporary Romantic Novel, Epic Romantic Novel, Historical Romantic Novel, Paranormal or Speculative Romantic Novel, Romantic Comedy Novel, the RoNA Rose Award (for shorter and category romance) and Young Adult Romantic Novel – with a range of authors shortlisted for each one.
