Essex Army veteran to cycle from Canada to Mexico

23 Mar Essex Army veteran to cycle from Canada to Mexico

An Essex Army veteran is set to cycle from Canada to Mexico in aid of Help for Heroes.

Army Veteran Sam Jack is about to embark on a mammoth challenge in aid of the charity that he credits for his recovery after being wounded in service.

The 30-year-old, from Bishops Stortford in Essex, will cycle from Canada to Mexico with a fellow 33 EOD Royal Engineers comrade, Wes Craven.

Sam said: “The weight of my bike is going to be what I find the hardest! It’s not the lightest of bikes and will be even heavier with all the equipment on. I’ve been going on training bike rides and joined a local spin class to get my fitness up, but I suspect it will still be tough. What I’m most looking forward to is the beautiful scenery, especially in San Francisco”.
