Marking the close of another incredible year for Escapes audiences will be treated to an exclusive first look at Eternity, the new romantic fantasy from acclaimed director David Freyne (Dating Amber, The Cured), on Monday 1st and Tuesday 2nd December.
Previewing ahead of its official cinema release on Friday 5th December, these nationwide screenings offer film lovers a unique opportunity to be among the first to experience this bold, heart-stirring vision of love in the afterlife. Starring Elizabeth Olsen, Miles Teller, Callum Turner, Da’Vine Joy Randolph and John Early, Eternity is written by Pat Cunnane, and brought to life by producers Tim White and Trevor White.
Since launching in February 2024, Escapes, made possible by the BFI awarding National Lottery funding, has brought audiences back to independent cinemas across the UK, with over 180,000 free tickets claimed to date. Its diverse programme spans cult classics and award-winning features, alongside exclusive previews of upcoming releases, including Point Break, The Penguin Lessons, and The Surfer.
Eternity transports audiences to a vivid afterlife where souls have one week to choose where – and with whom – to spend forever. When Joan reunites with her late husband Larry, she discovers her first love Luke has been waiting 67 years for her, forcing her to choose between the life she lived and the one she never had. Lit by captivating performances and David Freyne’s striking visual world, Eternity becomes a dazzling, deeply human exploration of love, choice, and what truly makes a life well-lived.
Arriving at over 100 cinemas nationwide, Escapes remains committed to making cinema accessible for all – whether discovering a new film like Eternity, experiencing the magic of a local independent cinema, or sharing in the joy of storytelling together. Every screening will include descriptive subtitles to ensure accessibility for a wider audience.
