08 Feb Ellisons Solicitors expands with new practice area
A leading East Anglian law firm has launched a new Medical Negligence team to give expert advice to those who have faced poor treatment.
Ellisons Solicitors’ Ipswich office has welcomed Mark Stafford-White to the firm as a Medical Negligence Lawyer. Joining the Injury Services team, he will provide expert support and assistance to people injured as a result of negligent medical treatment, helping them to access compensation for their injuries.
The new practice area is the latest in a string of expansions for Ellisons in Suffolk, with more than 70 new colleagues joining the firm in the last five years alone.
Mr Stafford-White, who is a lifelong Ipswich Town supporter, said: “Launching the new Medical Negligence team at Ellisons Solicitors is a hugely exciting step forward for myself and the firm. I’m thrilled to be joining the team and leading the way in its continued expansion.”
Mr Stafford-White is a member of APIL with Litigator status and has specialised in medical negligence since 2013, with a particular focus on Fatal Accident Act claims, misdiagnosis, birth injury, orthopaedic injury and delayed diagnosis of cancers.
Ellisons’ Medical Negligence team will form part of the Injury Services team, helping people with claims against GPs, hospitals, private surgeons, mental health trusts, ambulance services, and local Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs).
Mr Stafford-White added: “I’m passionate about working to improve access to health services across Suffolk to ensure that patient safety is enshrined and is at the forefront of all healthcare decisions. Outside of work, I also serve as a Trustee to Suffolk User Forum to support their work on behalf of people living with Severe Mental Illnesses in Suffolk.”
Stevan Stratton, Partner and Head of Injury Services department commented: “We are delighted to welcome Mark to Ellisons, further strengthening and expanding our recognised and excellent Injury team. Mark’s appointment demonstrates our continued commitment to develop and diversify our expertise for our clients.”
