ECFRS and #Essex Audi Group extend partnership

05 Aug ECFRS and #Essex Audi Group extend partnership

A partnership between Essex County Fire and Rescue Service and Essex Audi Group to help reduce road traffic collisions across the County has been extended on its first anniversary.

ECFRS’s RTC Reduction Team has been donated a new FireCar – the Audi RS3 – to help engage with young drivers and modified car enthusiasts.

The keys were handed over on Monday, August 1, on the first anniversary of our special partnership.

The FireCar can be seen at over hundred events in Essex each year – including V Festival later this month, which will see thousands of young people attend the County’s largest music festival.

People can also see the FireCar, which started in 2014, at fire station open days, cruiser events in Basildon, Chelmsford, Colchester and Harlow and at colleges and sixth forms.

Assistant Chief Fire Officer Dave Bill said: “We look forward with continuing our partnership with Essex Audi Group, helping make the County’s roads safer.

“The new Audi RS3 FireCar will help our RTC Reduction Team to deliver lifesaving road safety messages to hundreds of young drivers and learners.

“Through this partnership, we can continue to save lives, prevent injury and reduce risks.”

Steve Doble, Franchise Director at Essex Audi Group, said: “We’re delighted that we will be continuing our support for Essex County Fire and Rescue Service.

“The partnership celebrates its first birthday and the relationship is stronger than ever. The iconic Audi RS3 will help reduce collisions and make the County’s roads and communities safer.

“This initiative is close to our hearts and I looking forward to continuing our road safety partnership with ECFRS.”

ECFRS also has FireBikes that help the Service’s RTC Reduction Team engage positively with Essex motorcyclists on a range of safety and related issues.
