21 Sep Dr. Martens marked their Chelmsford arrival in typical rock and roll fashion
by Matthew Martino
Last night, Dr. Martens launched their highly anticipated new store with Chelmsford’s very own cheeky chappy Rat Boy headlining a night of raucous celebration.
With support from neighbouring Southend band Suspects, the punk-inspired duo warmed the crowd with gritty, grunge sounds, playing rowdily to a crowd who were eager to welcome them into the brand new store.
Next up headline act Ray Boy and his band paid homage to Dr. Marten’s long-time commitment to music with a loud and eruptive amalgamation of hip hop and indie music, topped with an unfiltered rock attitude, which echoed through Bond Street, making the launch a night to remember for Chelmsford’s local community.
The Chelmsford store will also offer further community based events and meet-ups in the following weeks, working with a range of diverse individuals from the surrounding community. More details to be announced soon.
The Dr. Marten’s Chelmsford store is now open on Unit 3, 72 Bond Street, CM1 1BE
