20 Aug Disney magic bring smiles to child patients at Basildon Hospital
A little Disney magic was sprinkled over Basildon University Hospital when some beloved characters came to visit patients and staff.
Mickey, Minnie and Queen Elsa from Frozen were invited along to Basildon University Hospital by the MCA Trust, a charity that supports children with brain-related cancers.
The MCA Trust is currently visiting local hospitals and handing out travel sized toothbrush sets to raise awareness of the charity.
The MCA trust was set up in memory of Michael Charles Adams, who was diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2010 and passed away soon after. While receiving treatment, he said he wanted to make a difference for local children who were suffering as he was. He didn’t have time to fulfil his wish, but his family and friends set up the MCA Trust in his name. Earlier this year, the charity also funded the renovation of the children’s oncology room, where treatments such as chemotherapy are given to young patients.
