30 Dec Dandara donates eco-friendly Christmas decorations to Bocking Primary School
Every year 12,500 tonnes of Christmas decorations are sent to landfill, totalling a cost of £1.2 million, according to recent research from Business Waste.[1] In response to this, local housebuilder Dandara has gifted pupils at Bocking Primary School eco-friendly baubles to decorate this Christmas, alongside a wooden Christmas post box.
To celebrate the festive season Dandara, who is building its Towerlands Park development on Panfield Road in Bocking, Braintree, donated sustainable decorations to reduce the volume of wasted plastic decorations this year. Made from wood, the baubles were decorated by pupils and displayed on the school’s tree at the local St Mary’s Church’s Christmas Tree Festival.
The housebuilder also donated a wooden Christmas post box for the pupils to ‘post’ Christmas cards to each other to celebrate the festive season.
Roseanne Bullen, Sales and Marketing Director for Dandara Eastern, said: “As an environmentally conscious housebuilder we incorporate eco-friendly features at our developments wherever possible, so we are proud to work with Bocking Primary School to reduce their decorative waste this Christmas. The pupils did a fantastic job decorating their baubles, and it was great to see them proudly displayed at the Christmas Tree Festival.
“We also hope they enjoyed using the Christmas post box to post Christmas cards to each other – we wish the pupils and teachers a very Merry Christmas from all of us here at Dandara!”
Hannah Cagney, Headteacher at Bocking Primary School, commented: “We were very happy to receive such a thoughtful sustainable donation from Dandara, and we’d like to thank them for gifting a wooden Christmas post box alongside the baubles, which we made great use of as we sent Christmas cards between different classes – the pupils really enjoyed it!.”
Dandara has recently launched its Towerlands Park development on Panfield Road, Braintree, offering a selection of three, four and five-bedroom homes. Prices currently start from £399,950 for a three-bedroom home.
