Dandara Celebrates Essex Day With Donation Of Cowslip Flowers To Little Me Pre School In Braintree

In celebration of Essex Day (26th October), housebuilder Dandara , who is currently building new homes at Birch Park in Braintree, has donated 30 cowslip flower plugs to Little Me Pre School.

Known as the symbolic flower of Essex, the donation is part of Dandara’s wider campaign to celebrate the awareness day by distributing cowslips flowers to schools across the county. The campaign also aims to encourage biodiversity and deepening young people’s connection to their heritage.

The origins of Essex Day are tied to St Cedd, the patron saint of Essex. His feast day on 26th October was later adopted as Essex Day, a county day celebrating local heritage, history and identity.

Lisa Marshall, Managing Director at Little Me Pre School commented: “Celebrating the historic day of Essex, the donation of cowslips from Dandara not only helped teach our children the importance of local heritage but also provided a hands-on experience in nurturing wildlife. We are looking forward to watching the cowslips blossom as they serve a meaningful reminder to the pupils of our local community.”

The cowslip plugs, known for their bright yellow blooms in springtime, will be planted in the Pre School’s outdoor garden space.
Gemma Bannister, Sales Director at Dandara Eastern, commented: “As we partner with the local community to celebrate Essex, it is important that we are rooted in the heritage where we build new homes. Sharing the county’s history with a donation of cowslips to children across Essex allows the community to come together and help teach them the origin of where they live.”

The planting at Little Me Pre School marks one of many nature-based donations Dandara is making across Essex to mark Essex Day and demonstrate its commitment to the local communities.

The housebuilder will be hosting a Part Exchange Weekend at its Birch Park development on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th November, offering prospective buyers the opportunity to learn more about its scheme. For more information or to register interest, please visit BirchPark/Dandara.

Dandara is currently selling a range of two -, three-, four- and five-bedroom homes at Birch Park in Braintree, with prices starting from £325,000 for a two-bedroom home.
