10 Oct Councillors agree to fund Wickford Christmas Lights project
Councillors have agreed to grant money for the Wickford Christmas lights.
The Neighbourhoods and Public Spaces Committee met on 25 September to go through proposals for a number of initiatives to help support communities. One of them being the Wickford Christmas lights and have agreed to grant £10,000 out of the £163,000 allocated for several other projects.
Wickford Christmas lights was one of the priorities in the Borough following the Neighbourhoods and Public Spaces Committee on 3 July 2019.
The other priorities include:
Town Centre Working Groups
Enforcement cameras to reduce flytipping in hotspots across the borough
A new gate for the Paddocks Community Hall car park to reduce anti-social behaviour
Additional waste bins in areas of need around the borough.
Chairman of the Neighbourhoods and Public Spaces Committee Councillor David Harrison said: “We are pleased to be able to make this funding available across the borough – all will bring benefits to the community”
