Artisan crisp producer, Fairfields Farm, has picked up five awards in this year’s prestigious Great Taste Awards, known as the ‘Oscars’ of the food industry.
The celebrated awards, which judge thousands of products on taste alone, are a cornerstone of the fine food industry and give producers a stamp of approval from some of the country’s most esteemed critics.
In this year’s competition, Fairfields Farm received one-star gold awards for its Sweet Chilli, Sea Salt & Black Pepper and Sea Salt & Aspall Cyder Vinegar Crisps, as well its Tomato & Herb and Jalapeño & Lime Lentil Bites.
“We are delighted to have picked up five gold awards in this year’s Great Taste Awards,” explains Robert Strathern, third generation potato farmer and co-founder of Fairfields Farm. “We are constantly striving to produce the best possible crisps, using the highest quality ingredients. It’s fantastic that after 13 years in the business our crisps are still coming out on top for taste.
Fairfields Farm, which is based in Colchester, has been producing crisps for 13 years. Using only the best hand-selected potatoes, that are grown on its farm, the company cooks and packs its crisps in its own on-site factory giving customers maximum traceability and zero food miles in every pack.
