Colchester careers expert explains why 23% of Essex people want to leave their job

29 Jan Colchester careers expert explains why 23% of Essex people want to leave their job

New research has found that 23% of Essex people want to leave their job, and recruitment expert and Colchester-native Amanda Coulson is offering career advice to those who are struggling in their job.

“The term ‘the Great Resignation’ has been used a lot in recent months as more and more people are quitting their jobs post-pandemic,” said Amanda, CEO and founder of business service specialists, SVC Solutions.

“It is a sellers market for jobs, and employers are struggling to fill roles when workers are in such high demand. As a consequence, many companies and businesses in Essex have been left understaffed.”

The study, which was carried out by Slack, found that 23% of workers in Essex want to quit.

“It could be due to employers making new requests around working from home or having to come into the office, it could be as a result of more people quitting that those left are dealing with bigger workloads, or it could be that the pandemic has ultimately made us question our careers.”
