Colchester Café Has a New Look

07 May Colchester Café Has a New Look

A Colchester-based social enterprise that supports young people and adults with learning disabilities is celebrating the installation of signage, a year after its opening.

Having opened its doors to its café, gallery, and art workshops in April 2023, Level Best Enterprises is still working with Colchester City Council on the building’s permanent storefront on St Johns Street. In the interim, to ensure customers can find the variety of services on offer, the charity has installed temporary signage including window graphics to the front of the café and gallery.

Previously located at Darcy House on Culver Street East in Colchester, Level Best has been in negotiations with Colchester Council’s planning team over the right permanent signage installation to fit the area, with part of the Level Best building extending onto Colchester’s historic Abbeygate Street.

Alison Ling, Manager at Level Best has shared her excitement about the temporary signage,
“Our trainees, staff, and customers are so happy to have signage installed and it looks amazing! It marks a really important milestone for all of us at Level Best. It feels great to know we’re now more visible to the public of Colchester and that people know that we’re here.

“We’re still working closely with Colchester City Council on a permanent solution, and we are hopeful that we’ll be able to install Level Best’s new storefront in the near future.”
