14 Apr COLCHESTER BASED ARTIST ALICE NICHOLLS HOSTS EXCITING ESSEX ARTIST GALLERY SHOWCASE
Five of Essex’s finest creatives and artists are coming together to showcase their work at an exciting event being held at The Spare Room Art Gallery, Colchester on Saturday 7th May.
Hosted by leading tattoo artist Alice Nicholls, founder of Alice The Autist creative art group and the natural beauty brand Four Tattoo Care, it promises to be an inspirational night with a chance to view some very special pieces.
As well as the exciting take on the Essex and Suffolk landscapes of artist Emma Connolly who reflects the changing seasons and amazing skyscapes in her work, James Nicholls imaginative mind takes us on a magical journey with his photo images of simple things in nature he discovers in the woods around Colchester given a mystical twist.
Suzanne Smith is well known for her colourful artwork, all drawn by hand using graphite pencils to create stand out pieces while Hannah Garnham uses rich oil paint to create pieces that resonate with emotional states including some uneasy topics such as the isolation and social withdrawal suffered by many over the last two years. With over 10 years’ experience she receives many commissions while Marie Soul, the fifth artist at the event looks to the animal world to paint bright bold illustrations that have been reproduced as prints, greeting cards, note books and postcards that make perfect gifts.
Event organiser Alice Nicholls says ‘We’re very excited to bring together so much talent under one roof. Our Spare Room Gallery is located in my tattoo studio and is the perfect space to reflect and unwind, we’re hoping to highlight a lot more local artists over the coming months and entry is free.’
As well as a chance to talk to the artists, there will be an opportunity buy, as well as complimentary drinks and canapes.
