CLARETS manager, Rod Stringer, has urged Chelmsford football fans to turn out in force and back his team in Tonight’s Buildbase FA Trophy third round replay against Tranmere Rovers at the Melbourne Stadium.

Speaking to the Clarets boss ahead of tonight’s game he told us ‘Obviously we are looking forward to it. We have not been back in since Monday, but we’re just trying to clear up some little niggles and hopefully we can have another go at them.’

A very important game that could push the hosts into the quarterfinals could potentially mean some tactical changes particularly with Mark Haines still out with an injury, speaking ahead of the game Stringer said “we are waiting on [Mark] Haines to see if he is fit. We’re looking at a few different options so we’ll keep people thinking on that one. I don’t want to give things away for obvious reasons. We’ll look at what personnel is available and make decisions on that.”

Stringer who has emphasised the importance of a big crowd at the Melbourne Community Stadium in tonight’s clash told us “we think they have had their chance at home. They had quite a large advantage with supporters being at home, so I’d like to see us replicate that now we’re at home. I hope for a great turnout and I’m sure Tranmere will come down with some supporters, but hopefully we’ll outnumber them and they will help us get over the line.”

The Clarets who return to league action this Saturday hosting St Albans City, another big game have more challenges lying ahead but Stringer added “We know all these games coming up are tough games and games that people want to play in. So, we have just got to keep our finger on the pulse and make sure we don’t pick up too many injuries and I think the boys will relish playing a lot of games in a small period. These big games are what the players want to play in, everybody is vibrant and looking forward to the next few games and hopefully we can produce.”

The Buildbase FA Trophy third round replay between Chelmsford City and Tranmere Rovers will take place at the Melbourne Stadium tonight with kick off at 7:30pm
