08 Feb Clacton woman is climbing for her Heroes
A woman who regularly caters for the public is to take part in a new and “daunting” experience later this summer.
Chelsea Felgate, 27, from Clacton on Sea, is a full-time chef who lives in Ipswich, and will climb Britain’s highest mountain, Ben Nevis, in August.
She aims to raise £500 for the Armed Forces charity, Help for Heroes, in the process, and paid tribute to their role in society.
Chelsea said: “Help for Heroes is a fantastic charity that does brilliant work supporting our Veterans.
“They are such a worthy charity, and I hope I can raise as much money as possible before August.”
The prospect of ascending Ben Nevis, towering 1,345 metres (4,411) above the Lochs and Glens of the Scottish Highlands, is a “scary” thought for the 27-year-old. But she expects to complete the challenge, which will be held overnight alongside other fundraisers.
