The Pig & Whistle Restaurant in Chignal Smealey has been chosen to represent Chelmsford in a cookbook of the 20 top restaurants across Essex.
The cookbook is named “Essex Feast” and contributors were selected from recommendations made by dinners across the County.
Essex Feast will hit the shelves this autumn, featuring 20 restaurants working with 20 local ingredients. It profiles each chef and the local producer, showing the journey from production to plate.
Brendan Curran turned the former pub into a restaurant and now serves fresh home cooked a la carte, light lunches and carvery to hundreds of Essex foodies each week.
Head Chef, Matt Court said “We pride ourselves on working with fresh ingredients to provide great food to our customers. Pig & Whistle Restaurant is all about superb service, fine foods, wines and gins in a cosy countryside restaurant.”
