22 May Chelmsford bar CTZN to give away free pizzas in charity event
On Saturday 26 May, Chelmsford bar, CTZN will be celebrating the life of Rob O’Connor, a local homeless man who was originally from Canada by holding a pizza giveaway event.
Rob O’Connor sadly passed away on Friday 23 February and was found in a shop doorway opposite CTZN after temperatures dropped to -2 °C.
During the event, CTZN is opening its doors for visitors from 12pm until 8pm and will be giving away free pizza. The team will be accepting donations and 100% of the money raised will be donated to the charity Emmaus.
Glen Ferns, Fundraiser and Communications leader for Emmaus Lambeth comments: “We were moved when CTZN approached us regarding the pizza giveaway event. Tradegies such as this highlight that it is more important than ever for the community to come together to combat issues such as homelessness. Donations are extremely important for Emmaus and it makes the work we do possible.”
Emmaus is working to combat homelessness by offering homeless people more than just a bed for one night. The charity works hard to provide a home, meaningful work and a sense of belonging for these individuals.
